We provide digital skills trainings, awareness and literacy workshops to bridge the digital literacy gap amongst youth and women in Malawi. Skills trainings include photography, videography, music/sound engineering, radio/podcasting, coding, creative writing/blogging, graphic design, web/app development. Awareness and literacy sessions vary according to topic of discussion and community needs.
Media information literacy education (MILE) supports towards bridging the digital literacy gap amongst youth and women across Malawian communities through technology skills and knowledge transfer. The program activities vary from digital skills trainings, awareness and outreach on existing digital technologies and networking events to connect technology industry players with the community at large to enhance engagement and collaboration.
The program will support 500 youth and young women with digital skills trainings by November 2022. To date one cohort has been completed with 52 youth and young women trained awaiting internship placements. 850 youth and young women will be reached with information on existing digital technologies and 120 youth and young women engaged in networking events.
